New Need for Speed Brings Back a Most Wanted Feature
To say that the lack of an offline mode has caused problems among players is, as Ghost Games says in their blog, "an understatement." A quick Google search for "Need for Speed offline" brings up scores of message board posts from fans and players asking when, if at all, offline mode will arrive to the series. Luckily, Ghost Games confirmed that the full single-player campaign for the 2017 Need for Speed sequel will be available offline on launch day.
Several of the previous Need for Speed games, including 2015's reboot developed by Ghost Games, 2013's Need for Speed Rivals, and 2012's Need for Speed: Most Wanted featured some form of open world gameplay. With the 2015 reboot however, Ghost Games and EA found it necessary to require players to have a constant internet connection to enjoy the game at all, locking out players from core parts of the game, or worse, not allowing players to pause the game due to the constant internet connection.
